Responsibilities Your main tasks Your main goal is to develop and
implement programs to meet the individual needs of detainees
(including individual and group counseling). Interview newly
admitted detainees. Conduct facility orientation for new detainees
explaining the facility’s rules and regulations, available services
and programs, and disciplinary and classification process. Provide
individual counseling on an informal basis regarding work and
housing assignments, adjustment difficulties, and family issues.
Resolve day-to-day problems with counseling (referring detainees
with serious problems to professional counseling staff). Monitor
detainee custody, housing, job, and program assignments to ensure
all cases are reviewed in a timely manner. Conduct visits to
detainees assigned to caseload who are in special housing. Review
detainee medical status to determine eligibility to work volunteer
jobs. Qualifications Competencies Required If you have a natural
ability for working in a team with a wide variety of members and
you’re truly driven by the joy of seeing people thrive, you are in
the right place. Apply if you have: Minimum Requirements High
school diploma or equivalent certification required. Bachelor's
degree in criminal justice, sociology, or related field is
preferred. One (1) year in caseload management of offenders in a
correctional setting required or an equivalent combination of
education and related work experience required. Certified law
enforcement officer experience or correctional/detention experience
preferred. Physical Requirements Frequently: lift or carry up to 10
lbs.; push or pull up to 40 lbs.; walk, stand, sit. Occasionally:
lift or carry up to 20 lbs.; bend, stoop, reach above shoulder
